​Compass - W.F.Stanley
William Ford Stanley ( 1829 - 1909) founded his firm in 1853.

I purchased this compass from a gentleman in Tasmania.

The compass is in excellent condition.

On the leather casing there is a partly obliterated name and " Authorized Surveyor"​

At this stage I believe that this compass was made in the latter part of the 19th century.
