Very Early Unusual Compass with Paper Dial
This compass is the only type that I have ever seen with the external "Ear Type" sighting lugs.

The sighting holes are made of metal seated in a wooden base with their line of sight coinsiding with the North/ South markings on the paper compass dial.

There is no makers name but with this type of construction I would estimate that it is circa 1800.

The wooden case measures 125 x 125 x 25 mm.
