Shaw Compass
Robert Shaw 1817 - 1876.  He operated at 222 Water Street, New York between 1836 - 1838 and after 1845 when his partnership with Addington Frye disolved. I believe that this compass was made around that period. This compass and the walnut box are in excellent condition
