Survey Cross by Henri Morin
Henri Morin started his company around 1880 and the company quickly became one of the major French companies providing instruments for drawing, topography and artillery works.
This unusual instrument combines a survey cross with level collimator.
When fully extended, the internal pendulum is released to enable the pendulum to swing freely when the instrument is in the vertical position.
There is a very small graduated prism that shows units " Pentes en Centiemes" - " Slopes in Hundredths".
The bottom section allows angles/ bearings to be set or measured.
Circa 1920.
Please have a look in this section at my other Morin survey cross (circa 1890) for comparison.
