Flavelle Bros & Roberts Level
This company was registered as trading in Sydney and Brisbane between 1869 and 1892 when the company name was changed to Flavelle, Roberts and Sankey.
The body of the level is engraved “ Flavelle Bros and Roberts Sydney and Brisbane “ and “ BCC 10” which is also engraved on the box.
The BCC label could relate to the Brisbane City Council which was declared a municipality in 1859.
Based on the makers name dating from 1869 and the BCC being declared a city in 1859 I would suggest that this level be circa 1870.
