Theodolite - Augustin Santi

This is a very old surveyors transit.
Augustin Santi was a scientific instrument maker and optician between 1830 to 1862 and was based in Marseille, France.
Check out the beautiful hand engraving on the compass and horizontal and vertical circles.​

The Santi label is not attached to this instrument but I found it on the net and included the label in the slide show for interest.
