Stanley Theodolite
Stanley commenced business in 1854. This theodolite has a serial number of 8101 which indicates that it was the first theodolite manufactured in 1881.
The style of manufacture of the readers for the horizontal circle is very unusual as the reader magnifiers are removable. Other instrument manufacturers in this era had the circle reader eye piece base affixed to the theodolite.
The extended eye piece allows for an erect image.

The theodolite and box weigh 11.55 kgs.

The theodolite is in pristine condition showing little, if any, signs of wear.
