Stanley Theodolite
William Ford Robinson Stanley 1829 - 1909
Stanley started business in 1854. Among many other patents in 1889 and 1892 Stanley was granted patents for improvements to theodolites and tribrachs.
This theodolite was made with serial number 90159  ( 1890 - Instrument 159 ) and shows the patented dovetailed tribrach system for accurately locating the theodolite above a point.
